Homemade Buttermilk Bread

I am finally starting to feel a cool crisp breeze in the air.
We have had some record breaking heat this Summer and I am so ready for my favorite time of year.....Autumn

Gather your ingredients:

I changed this recipe up a little bit because I can't ever seem to leave/follow a recipe in its original form.
It's just who I am~

'Grandma's White Bread' revised

2 packages of active dry yeast
2 Cups lukewarm water
1 cups Buttermilk
1/2 cup dry milk
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1/3 cup cooking oil
6-7 cups sifted flour
Directions:
Sprinkle yeast in lukewarm water; stir to dissolve. Add dry milk, sugar, salt, oil, and buttermilk. Pour mixture in mixer. Add flour one cup at a time. Gradually add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough that leaves the sides of the bowl. (Mine was a little on the dry side) Cover and let rest 15 minutes. Divide dough in half and knead on floured surface until smooth, about 4-5 minutes. Shape each half into a loaf. Place in two greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pans. Let rise until doubled, about 1- 1 1/2 hours. Preheat oven atleast 15 minutes. Bake in 375 for 25-30 minutes or until loaves sound hollow when tapped. Remove from oven and set loaf pan on their side to cool for 10 minutes then slowly remove loaves to a cooling rack. Run a knife around edges if loaves stick.
Variation: You can also substitute 1 cup Wheat flour for one of the 6-7 cups of white flour.
Hint: I always turn my oven on low (200 degrees) and set the rising loaves on the top; the added heat really help the yeast work its magic.
Special thanks to Lindsey over @ Inspiring Creations; where I originally found this recipe.

This bread is fantastic and will be replacing the yucky store bought white bread in our home!
It is so easy to make, the hard part it does by itself (rising) ;-)

Let me know how you like this recipe.
