I took a little break after all the busy fair crafting but now I am jumping back in. I have been so busy working on a top secret birthday surprise for my daughter's 8th birthday coming up in November. Just a little hint I am redoing a beautiful little desk for her. Right now she is doing her homework on a tiny Wiggles table in our study and her knees actually touch the bottom of the table and she has to lean over to do her work. I feel bad very bad so the last three months I have been searching for a sweet little desk for my sweet little/growing girl.
Her dad didn't think she needed her own desk so I kind of went behind his back just a little and found one, and thought about it for two weeks, and the decided if it was still there it was meant to be, went back and couldn't find it, felt a little heart-broken, walked around the corner from where it had been sitting, found it and then, well, kind of bought it and then snuck it up to work and then didn't tell him for about two weeks.
Here is a before picture:
Here is a hint as to what I am doing:
Ok enough about my Top Secret desk, I will leave you waiting with anticipation for all the glorious after pictures.............You will love it, trust me.
Ribbon Pumpkins
I saw these posted about a month ago on more than one linkie parties, ran out bought the supplies and made them within a day of seeing these super cute and super easy craft.
Supplies:
Foam pumpkins (As many as you want to make and any size)
Various 1/4 inch ribbon (Any colors you want, I just picked an array of yellow, orange, black and green)
Hot Glue gun (that sticky tape didn't work so well, like other crafters used)
Direction: Glue the ribbons down each rib of the pumpkin. Cut 20+ lengths of ribbon that are 6" to 8" long. Then cut a long piece of ribbon (approx. 12 " long) and start tying all the short pieces of ribbon to it, sliding the knots close together. When completed this will go around your pumpkin stem. When you are happy with the amount hot gun the ribbon around the stem.
Here are a few more decorations around my house:
I found some beautiful vintage Halloween prints on the Internet and switched out some pictures in my kitchen. I really like the simple, subtle hint of Halloween.
~Happy October everyone!~
