My sweet 2nd grader!
Off they go... Ok so I will admit that I actually cried this year. It was the first year I didn't go on the first day. (Avoiding the parent, student and school supplies mob at all cost.) Joshua was quick to hug me and tell me, "but mommy I'm still here" which made me choke up even more. Because then I started thinking about him next year being old enough to start kindergarten. I need to stop now because I feel my eyes welling up again.
Afternoon pick-up went great and she was happy enough to play around with me and say she didn't have a good day... that little stinker. She talked all the way home about her day and who she liked and who she didn't and who sat beside her and who was bad and who was good and the games they played and how hot pink gogurts got all over her new white shirt~
Happy first day of school.
She looks so cute! You know, you're right about the backpacks. Spend more $$$ and it'll be cheaper in the long run - Dorian's LLBean lasted 3 yrs & we just retired it, not from necessity but rather from want of something different! Same goes for coats & jackets. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Anyway, hope she had fun :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila, hope your kiddos are having a great first week of school! I sure hope this backpack holds up.

Love the backpack! I got Walker's at Lands End last year, and it still looks as good as new (but it is camo..haha).
ReplyDeleteThanks Carla, I really like it too. It isn't too little girl and I was impressed she went with a mainly blue backpack. I had her name put on it by a lady out at the Kidstown Consignment Sale a few weeks back, she did such a great job and only charged $8!!!!
ReplyDeleteI looked at Lands End too, they have great backpacks, I just ordered a new canvas monogramed tote from them.
